Sonoma County band Dgiin brought high energy into the wee hours at Ashkenaz on a Friday last September. Now they return to delight us during our midday dance.

Guitarist/vocalist Gabe was raised in France, where he began learning the classical guitar at age 9. He moved to California in 1998; when his sister, vocalist Mimi, joined him from France a year later, they started Dgiin. The Flamenco-Django-esque band has consistently put on memorable, high-energy shows, captivating crowds with their singular sound. Dgiin's current lineup features Gabe and Mimi alongside bassist Chris Le Dieph; Magali Sanscartier from Quebec on horns; and percussionist/drummer Ricky, a native of El Salvador, who has played in numerous salsa, rock, and Latin Jazz bands.
