Zach Pine Nature Sculpture - Earth Day Invitation Heading

YOU'RE INVITED !

6th Annual Create-With-Nature Earth Day Celebration

Saturday April 17, 2010, 11 AM - 3 PM, south end of Stinson Beach

FREE !

Celebrate Earth Day by creating art on the beach! Join in as community members, professional artists, and passers-by construct sculpture using sand, rocks, shells, seaweed and other beach treasures. The intention behind the event is to create an experience that will inspire and energize people to care for and protect the earth not only on Earth Day, but throughout the year.

To learn more about the event, view these event photos from past years, and read this Marin Independent Journal article and these words from participants.

Bring a picnic lunch. The gathering will take place rain, shine, or fog.

Beach cleanup is part of the event. Bring a bag or gloves if you wish.

Carpooling to the event is a great way to honor Earth Day. If you want to give or get a ride, email me your details and I'll add you to the carpool group to make arrangements. Public transport from/to Marin City is one scenic hour on the West Marin Stage minibus.

For beach info and directions, visit the Stinson Beach website. Or, use the map with satellite view of the location. Park in the south parking lot at Stinson Beach and walk 100 yards south to our site.

Here are the press release and the flyer for the 2009 event. 2010 event updates coming soon.

Thanks to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (National Park Service) for helping make this event possible.
