Mintage: 7,700,000.

Date Acquired: 12 December 2004.

Variety: F-105.

About This Coin: The CC-mint dimes, quarters and halves of the late '70s are the only ones affordable for many folks, as the 1875- to 1878-dated Carson City coins were the only ones in those denominations minted in large quantities comparable to other mints. This example is a pleasant, original and problem-free piece obtained from Seated Dime specialist Gerry Fortin; the only detraction of any note is a hit in the obverse field near the letter "M," and it is minor. This coin is of the "Type 1" reverse and designated F-105. It has a repunched "18" and some of the reverse around the phrase "ONE DIME" shows slight doubling.
