Mintage: 430,800. Date Acquired: 24 July 2007. Variety: F-105? About This Coin: Listed as an "XF" on eBay...not quite -- there's too much wear on the breasts, thigh and wreath -- but a very nice choice VF worth a reasonably strong bid at that grade level. The 1859 is one of the more uncommon Philadelphia coins of its era, and in EF and above it's a bit tougher date and starts to run away from the commons in market value. Nice even, original gray surfaces and few problems. |
