Mintage: 5,780,000 (large and small combined). Date Acquired: 11 November 2005. Variety: F-120? About This Coin: Took a chance with this one on eBay based on a small picture and looking to be a problem-free, original VF. Not a bad pickup for under $14, as it's even better in hand than I was hoping for. The details are sharper, the color is an even, original gray and there are almost no marks on the coin. I rarely use the VF-25 grade, but this one was too sharp to be 20 and didn't quite have the detail for 30, in my opinion. I've tried to attribute this one, but there are no die markers or diagnostics I can find -- the dies look perfect; I see no evidence of cracks or anything else on the coin. Based on the position of the date, my best guess is that this one is F-120. |
