Mintage: 12,078,010. Date Acquired: 11 December 2005. Variety: Unknown. There appear to be no diagnostics on this coin, and it appears to be a hubbed date and arrows. So really, it's very hard for me to tell. About This Coin: More shine and luster appears than I was expecting, and arguably full AU-50. That makes it look a little out of place but I'm not going to complain as it's very nice for what I paid. In 1853, silver dimes, quarters and halves were slightly smaller because silver coins had been hoarded since the silver content was worth more than face value. As a result the Mint had to coin unprecedented numbers of silver coins. |
