Why so serious?

Joker

BEWARE if some funny guy tells you this. Especially if he has a scar by the sides of his mouth.

Whoops!

Spoiler! Ha. Well. It’s been a while since a thought provoking show pops up after The Bucket List, and I’m pretty sure I’d rate this movie higher than it. Which I never expect a superhero movie to be so good. A week of turmoil where plenty of changes took place, and I’m glad some chunk of worries were taken off by pondering over the show.

The movie is dark. Very. It sucks to be living in Gotham, where you can’t trust your fellow 911 folks who’s been constantly bought over, or even your lawmakers. When you’re cornered to a spot, your true self will reveal - and this movie does give you a peak to that.

You either die a hero, or you live long enough to find yourself become a villain.

This must be the strongest tagline, powerful and provoking.

Without revealing too much, if you find yourself liking movies which test your mind, testing moralities, ethics, trust, and of course, plenty of twists in the plots which surprise you, and superb acting by the cast, from Batman and Alfred to Joker and Harvey - please go and watch this.

You won’t regret it Laugh

One overpowered lion

Narnia

DOING the customary thanks (thanks for the tickets!), I guess tonight there'd be quite a couple of posts on it. Well...go watch it!

The fact that it's really much more action packed, tighter storyline, better acting all adds up. I just revisited part one the day before - it really sucked compared to this. I think the best part about this sequel is that the kids are more mature, and are acting better than part one. Coupled with the fact that the kids have to fend for themselves this time round in front of the huge army - unlike part one - the whole pace is set faster.

Some might argue that the tone is darker, well, so are more movies nowadays. Okay, I shall not spoil too much in this posting, but the title is still enough of a spoiler. Well if you want to catch the trailer, feel free to click on the right hand side of this page - there is a direct link to it Laugh

For once, we probably can't complain about the lack of good movies - Iron Man is still showing, Prince Caspian, Indiana Jones...the list can go on and on. If you ever think you're too stressed ( I have many friends in the same boat), just head for cinema, and get yourself the tickets to catch a movie or two.

Prince Caspian - ready for action!

caspian

AS the title speaks for itself, the Chronicles of Narnia is back....almost. A few fortnights more and the show will be up.

I guess the best reason to watch it is that I've always been a sucker for movies falling into the fantasy genre, and the fact that, this is Narnia, ha!

The first movie was a bit dull, almost story telling, and a bit unbelievable - kids who's able to command the army? The acting was ok, nothing fantastic.

The sequel, however, seems totally to the contrary - lots of action and fighting.

Kicking the bucket

FINALLY after 3 months of waiting, the movie reaches our shore. With high expectations, both of us sat down in our seats watching the movie.

Needless to say, the story was good. The acting was good. While parts of the plot might be slow, it was really satisfying catching the movie.

Literally speaking, one must watch it before they kick the bucket!

Breath-taking at times, doing all the things you want to do before you kick it, a mission shared among 3 strangers (sorry, hope you don't mind the twist) to complete the lives so that they can smile with their eyes closed.

Trekking to Egyptian heavens, when was the last time you really had a smile to yourself? When was the last time you brought a smile to people?

Hope you can answer them as you read this Laugh

secret

It's a secret...

Jay and Rain

Humorous, interesting, and totally unexpected. Went in without much expectations, only to come out filling all satisfied and contented that the movie was a good watch. Hard to expect that coming from a new director, comparing his love story to Royston's works. To give Royston some credit, his wasn't a love story, but somehow Royston probably lacks just a bit of exposure with directors, actors, to give his works the extra oomph.

Well, ice cream cheers, anyone? Laugh

It always start from the beginning

Bourne fans, start your engines rolling!

Bourne ultimatum

Today is Singapore's 42nd national day. To celebrate his freedom from the past, Jason Bourne has chosen today to show his life story with everyone. At the cinema, almost half the cinema consists of foreigners, so one can see that the Bourne effect is still very much alive. Well, the ultimatum of his story, is actually where it all begins...the third of the series sums up everything nicely, even though I personally feel the novel is much nicer.

Not a bad movie, and a very apt National Day theme (freedom!). Hereby wishing everyone a happy National Day!
