politics

non sequiteur

I guess even though ad people, research people and brand people work side by side, there are plenty of protocols to adhere to if there is to exist harmony. When it comes to opinions, no one is absolutely right or wrong, provided the end objective is met...but is this true? Who is making the judgement call at the end of the day? Though the client might hold the power (cash), who is he/she supposed to hear, since everyone seems to be correct at the same time?

It does take some experience and guts to walk on thin line, doesn't it?

It's a secret...

Jay and Rain

Humorous, interesting, and totally unexpected. Went in without much expectations, only to come out filling all satisfied and contented that the movie was a good watch. Hard to expect that coming from a new director, comparing his love story to Royston's works. To give Royston some credit, his wasn't a love story, but somehow Royston probably lacks just a bit of exposure with directors, actors, to give his works the extra oomph.

Well, ice cream cheers, anyone? Laugh

It always start from the beginning

Bourne fans, start your engines rolling!

Bourne ultimatum

Today is Singapore's 42nd national day. To celebrate his freedom from the past, Jason Bourne has chosen today to show his life story with everyone. At the cinema, almost half the cinema consists of foreigners, so one can see that the Bourne effect is still very much alive. Well, the ultimatum of his story, is actually where it all begins...the third of the series sums up everything nicely, even though I personally feel the novel is much nicer.

Not a bad movie, and a very apt National Day theme (freedom!). Hereby wishing everyone a happy National Day!

Price for indiscretion

Big mouth gets you shit. Big head gets you trouble.
The price for both?

Random musings

Ever since the move, I feel like I'm staying in the office for longer hours. Probably because the atmosphere there is more productive, but this is a bad way to start, becoming an addict.

Sometimes I wonder how people study IT. Does all the knowledge of know hows become theirs with a snap of fingers? Or they have big brains and can store more? I'm struggling with getting the MX exchange correct, even though I swear I change it. And there's still PHP to trouble with.

Got this huge book to trouble myself with, to experiment, but time is always not enough.

Yawnz. I need more sleep.

Shifted to this beautiful place next to DHL balloon called Tan Quee Lan suites. From the entrance to the lift, and to the office itself, it exudes a certain aura that just feels right. Busy times ahead, and pictures will be uploaded soon Laugh

Picture 2

Lots of nice food nearby, from the famous Tien Tien Steamboat and duck rice to dessert stalls and wanton noodles, gym beckons, real soon...

Not everything about the vicinity is perfect though. People who sounded nice and sincere but really dig at you in reality, does make one wonder whether it is all a farce when you can't really be yourself all the time. Wearing costumes and masks during work, only to discover you're no longer the person behind the mask but rather the devil everyone knows...sounds horrible.

Lunch at Fish and Co @ Bugis Junction was decent, though one can do without the strong smell of the prawns, and the show offs of a German who was shamelessly trying to impress his fellow lunch mate. Even though the lunch mate wasn't really that pretty :p

Summing up, a day of hits and misses, with new contact points between suppliers and waiting for new replies and quotes. A change of office environment does show when everyone is doing work till the evenings, and everyone is engrossed (maybe) doing some work. Hope this trend is only temporary, well, we do need more life than that, right?

Taking charge

When every other person is giving you views and you're at a loss on how to handle things, who can you turn to? I guess the best is to wait till a quiet moment of the day where only insects are crawling and people are sleeping, that you can really think through comments.

Even though most people don't really mean things when they say it in the heat of the moment, the things that's spoken still hurt, at times. Trying to get a clearer picture, rephrasing it, the big picture, is hardly an easy job, considering that he/she needs to be objective. Who's heard of a first party view being objective anyways?

The most important thing, I guess, is to know what one truly wants, and whether the choice that is to be taken fits in.

Take charge of your life today!
