Zach Hixson

Zach is a self taught painter who has now gone on to become a full time artist

living in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He enjoys widespread representation by local

galleries and throughout the region.  His background has developed through his

life experiences living in New York and Europe.  It is during this time that he

developed his appreciation and knowledge of art.

Statement:

I have discovered that my motivation to paint is trying to simplify my subject;

taking shapes and giving them their own importance.  Appreciating each

individual shape alone, yet seeing how they make the larger picture.  At times

there may be some implied meaning in my work, but I trust the overall feeling of

light and color will rise above any underlying issues.  In the end I hope all of this

will add up to an emotional experience for the viewer.
