Tank Destroyer Men in Action

These are a few of the photographs you will find in "The Tank Killers."

Tank destroyer (TD) men were commando-trained and plenty tough.
Reconnaissance men were usually the first to find trouble.
The stop-gap M3 TD was the best the first battalions had in 1942.
The light TD platoons entered battle using the M6 TD.
The M10 TD first saw action late in the North Africa campaign.
The M18 embodied TD doctrine: light, fast, and able to kill tanks.
After North Africa, half the TD battalions converted to towed 3-inch guns.
The M36, which carried a 90mm main gun, was the most lethal TD.
