Oct. 11, as AshMUG welcomed David Lorenz Winston, acclaimed professional photographer. Mr. Winston used Keynote to demonstrate his work and process. is a community-based MUG in southern Oregon serving Ashland (home of Southern Oregon University, and the Shakespeare Festival). Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 7pm, at the Ashland Community Hospital Conference Room. The group welcomes newcomers and veteran computer users to its meetings.

AshMUG teamed up with Omug to bring legend Guy Kawasaki to its May 12 meeting and present him on a live webcast. As Oregon MUGs know, Kawasaki is no ordinary Guy -- he took time to join AshMUG via iChat video conference and bring his wisdom to business students at Southern Oregon University as well (this meeting was hosted on campus).

Spread the word: MUGport held a very special Font/Typography presentation for its January 4, 2007 meeting in Newport -- 3 special guest typography experts (from Canada, Iceland and Argentina) converged on Newport to spread their typography knowledge on many levels of design and use. MUGport elected new officers for 2006-07 at its November meeting. Michael Lynch is now president, after Steve Travis, who served with great effort for 10 years, stepped down.
