Category Image Welcome!

Welcome to my new web log (aka "blog"). Read up on some of my Open Source projects and contributions, and some of the things I'm currently working on and thinking about. An introduction.

Welcome to my web log (aka "blog"). My name is Brad Barclay, and I'm an Open Source Software Developer based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My main development project is the jSyncManager, a pure-Java data synchronization solution for PalmOS-based devices, used for years by individuals and organizations world-wide to manage the data on their handheld systems. However, I also administer and maintain several other Open Source projects, including the Simple Java Server, javax.usb on Mac OS X , and TAPAS. In the past, I've also contributed to other Open Source efforts, including the official port of Ogg Vorbis to Sony Linux for the PlayStation 2.

I'm new to the world of blogging. I intend for this blog to act as a repository for my ideas and efforts on a variety of development fronts, pushing new technologies in interesting ways.

To start, here is a quick list of some technologies I'm currently interested in and am working with:

- Data synchronization,
- Java development,
- Objective-C Development
- Mac OS X
- Linux (currently running Fedora Core 3 on Intel)

Welcome again to my blog. Whether you're a user of my software or not, I hope you find this experiment worthwhile.

Please be sure to visit my home page to learn more about me, with links to my resume, projects, and some media I've created for your enjoyment.
