First up, there's a link to Jessica Hupp's 25 tools to research a website.  

As Marty notes, these are really directed more to marketing analysis.  They are also US-centric, but you will no doubt have access to the Australian equivalent such as company extracts etc.

Next, check out the domain names Moniker Marketplace has up for auction and check out the prices it claims it has obtained.

VirtualHosting also has Laura Milligan's round up of ways to integrate YouTube into your website.  While this is directed mainly to "how to"; you never know when your client's questions might need you to understand too.

While I guess we mostly use WIPO's UDRP dispute resolution service, Prof. Manara reports that NAF has revised its particular rules for UDRP disputes.

Prof. Manara also reports that the Wall Street Journal has discovered domain name consultants are concerned about domain name thefts occurring on a daily basis.  

By the way, the venerable WSJ article notes that porn.com sold for US$9.5 million earlier this year.
