Privacy in Australia

The ALRC has issued an issues paper Review of Privacy investigating the adequacy of Australia's privacy protection having regard to changing community perceptions, the extension of State and Territory laws and new areas that may require protection...

Apparently, if you are a member of "the" younger generation, you may not care about privacy - especially as so many of "you" are publishing private pictures of yourselves on websites such as YouTube.

The ALRC is required to report by March 2008. It will issue a discussion paper in mid-2007. If you want your views on the Issues raised in the Issues Paper to be taken into account in time for them to be reflected in the Discussion Paper you need to get them in by 15 January 2007.

The Issues Paper can be found here (pdf format only).
