Drive to Chattanooga
I drove from Virginia to
Chattanooga, Tennessee today
Today I drove from my home in Virginia
to Chattanooga, Tennessee today. I left at about 8:30 am, first driving on US 60
over the Blue Ridge Mountains until I reached Interstate 81 near Lexington,
Driving southwest, I was in Roanoke at about 10:15. At about Wytheville it
started raining hard, making it somewhat difficult to see, especially with so
many trucks on the road throwing out big plumes of water behind them. I reached
Bristol, right on the boundary between Virginia and Tennessee just after noon,
and stopped for lunch. Getting back on the highway, I finally got drier roads at
about the place where I-81 comes into I-40 (near the Cumberland Gap). On
Interstate 40 I reached Knoxville at about 2 pm. Just west of Knoxville it
intersects Interstate 75. I went south on I-75 and arrived in Chattanooga at
about 4 pm.
