WilliamsburgDrive to Williamsburg,
Virgina
Today I drove from my home in Amherst,
Virginia, to Williamsburg, Virginia to pick up my son Philip, who goes to
college at William
and Mary. I left at 8 am, the weather was cold, hovering in the low
30's just barely above freezing. There was a dusting of snow on some of the
branches, but for the most part it was just wet
everywhere.
As I drove north on US 29, their was more snow. In Nelson county, there was a good inch or two on the ground. By the time I got to Charlottesville, the snow was gone again, so I stopped to clean the salt off my windshield. At Charlottesville I picked up interstate highway 64, west to Richmond. Soon after leaving Chalorttesville the sun came out and the highway was dry, though the temperature stayed in the 30's. I arrived in Williamsburg at about 11 am, and there was a dusting of snow there as well. Williamburg was pretty with that small amount of snow, especially since there are so many evergreens there. Philip's dormitory is just off Richmond Road. We had lunch, then returned by the same route, Interstae 64 to to Charlottesville, then US 29 south to Amherst, and we were back at about 3 pm.
