The Great Wall of China

Why the theme of the Great Wall of China? There are a couple of reasons. It represents to me on of the most remarkable achievement in the history of humans, especially when one considers that it was built long before the mechanical age of trucks, cranes, and the like.

The second reason is that it represents a journey, a long and difficult journey that is analogous to learning the craft of writing. It's a long journey with many ups and down, and twists and turns, just as life itself is a journey.

80kbBWHeadshotWriting - There are a couple of quotes that describe my approach to my writing career.

When once the itch of literature comes over a man, nothing can cure it but the scratching of a pen.  But if you have not a pen, I suppose you must scratch any way you can.  ~Samuel Lover, Handy Andy, 1842

It is impossible to discourage the real writers - they don't give a damn what you say, they're going to write.  ~Sinclair Lewis

On my site, you'll find a brief resume on my writing career, intended of course to attract Steven King's agent to sign me to a multi-million dollar book contract.  I'll also share a few short stories I've written, along with other news pertaining to my writing.

There may be links to my published columns, the ones I think have something to share; I suppose any writer thinks that may be all their writings. Should you wish to make a comment, there is a form at the end of the site.
