Tuesday, July 4. Start at 0-dark-30.
First fuel stop, Holbrook, AZ. We wouldn't have stopped but for the two flat
tires on the left side of the trailer.
Hey, where's the trailer?
Oh, trailer's winning. 2 tires, one refrigerator door, and one bathroom
doorknob. Long story!
John Zurek's turn at the wheel.
Chased by the lightning heading into tornado alley.
KOA, Amarillo.
Damp morning start, second day (Tuesday July 5).
When we hooked up with Bill and Gary in Oklahoma, we see another tire
wearing down to the belt.
Mingo RV Park -- nice place!
We're Stuck waiting for a new trailer axle. Nice rig on the left, eh?
Makes the 31 foot travel trailer look tiny. The Prevost's toad is a H2
Hummer.
Coffee and Donuts, Mingo RV Park (very nice RV park).
Pulling out for Hale's Trailer for axle replacement.
Our trailer service shop in Tulsa. Ray was very helpful!
The trailer in the service bay.
And the breakaway brake cable had some problems. Pulled the brakes on us
twice at the service center. Had to figure a new way to attach it.
So we spent the day touring Tulsa! One of the many pawn shops and gun
shops we visited during our down time.
Down time, surfing the web, at the RV Park.
Woo-Hoo! We're ready to roll. Back on the road about 5:30 pm Wednesday.
Will drive straight through to Canton.
About 50 miles west of St.. Louis. Driver change with about 600 miles to go.
11 pm.
Everything's a blur after 10 hours.
Only 300 miles to go. 7:30 am Thursday July 7.
John cleared the back seat, which made a quite comfortable bed!
The GPS phone voice needs a name, any suggestions?
