OPEN FILES pView 1.3 is a pictureViewing or preViewing application - whichever you prefer. It lets you view images (at the moment only jpeg) in a full screen mode on a black background (you can change the color if you like). You have the option to open one picture at the time or scan a folder for images. The scan includes all folders within the chosen one. Both these options takes you to the picture window presenting either the selected image or the first image of the selected folder. You can also drop any number of pictures and/or folders onto the application icon to get the same result.

SLIDE SHOW If you haven't chosen any files or folders you can select a folder for the slideshow in the menu. If you have selected a folder all you have to do is press "s" to start the slideshow. Pressing "." at anytime will stop the slideshow. If you merely wish to take a break (perhaps to manually change picture) you can press the spacebar to put the slideshow in pause mode. Pressing "r" will resume the show.
You can select if the slideshow should present the pictures alphabetically sorted by folders (and alphabetically within folders), alphabetically sorted by picture name or in random order. You can also change the time each picture is shown. This is done in the Preferences.

PREVIEWS If you want an overview of the pictures press "u" when in the picture window for preview images 64x64 (max 70 images at 800x600). Clicking on a preview image enlarges it - pressing "i" returns you to the preview images. Pressing "u" updates the previews starting with the current image.
You can also save any picture as a thumbnail. The current image will show up as a thumbnail in a separate window. There you can change the size of the thumbnail before you save it. You can set the default size in the Preferences. The thumbnail size can be between 16 and 128 pixels (the picture keeps its proportions so the chosen size represents the largest of the width and the height).
