Bleached flax tow fiber, spun skein, and drop spindle with thread on it. This fiber is combed and spins exactly like wool, since it is only 4-6 inches long. It is the short flax fibers that are leftover in the hackle combs after flax line has been combed. (When woven, flax is called linen. Confusingly, flax can also be used to refer to hemp.)
