the tale so far...

Born May 20th '63, I grew up in a culturally enriched suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. At the age of 14... I stole my brother's guitar and sat out to do what all new students of this instrument do... figure out the lick to Smoke on the Water. Finally, accomplishing this task (after 2 years), I proceeded to form my first band The Spaztics. Two weeks after (barely) graduating high school (class of '81), I split for Hollywood, CA to attend The Guitar Institute of Technology. Finishing in the fall of '82, I returned to Cincinnati and formed The Stiff Kittens.
In '85... after a brief stint at the Berklee College of Music, I helped put together Human Zoo ... recording and producing the self titled E.P. for the Hospital label
(now available on CD from cacophony-cincinnati with 7 never released bonus tracks).
May of '86 I helped form Manwich - a seven piece improv ensemble. After their breakup in '87, I assembled the 17 song cassette "iT", again for the Hospital label (also re-released on cacophony-cincinnati).
From '87 to '91, I performed as a sideman for many local bands, such as..... The 11,000 Switches,
The Lopez Sophisticates, The Reduced, I.D.F, Cosmic Pussy, House of Incest, The Buzz, The Blackouts, Torture Garden, The Ass Ponies, Mona Lisa OverdriveThe Incomprehensibles, The Gyro Brothers and The Chrome Cranks. Today, most, are not even remembered locally.
Summer of '91, I up'd and moved to New York City to attend The Institute of Audio Research. Fall of that year, I met up and  joined  GG Allin and the Murder Junkies... recording 2 albums for the Alive label and doing 3 tours. After GG's death in the summer of '93, the Murder Junkies continued for another 2 1/2 years. Also in late '91, I hooked up with Hoboken, NJ's Sugarshock, recording two singles (Thrill Jockey) and doing one tour.
March of '92, Peter Aaron moved up from Cincinnati to reform The Chrome Cranks. Together, the group recorded 5 albums, numerous singles and toured the U.S. and Europe extensively.

May of '94 had me teaming up with Jerry Teel (also of the Cranks) to open Funhouse Studio - a 24 track recording studio located in Manhattan's lower east side. There, we engineered and produced many of NYC's best underground bands.

After the Cranks disbanded in May of '98, I invited myself into Virginia Beach, VA's The Candy Snatchers
. I successfully survived 3 tours (while  damaging my liver & diminishing my credit rating). Black Lung Records released an awesome show from the Fireside Bowl in Chicago.
January 2k, I relocated back to Cincy (dont ask why) and bought a dwelling (my dream house... but not my dream city... oh well). Feb 2k I started sitting in with local heroes/ heartthrobs The Tigerlilies , releasing several ditties on the Atavistic label. Also in '01, I sat in for a spell with The Cybermen and  rejoined The Reduced. Mid '02 I was asked to play bass in The Brass Knuckle Boys and did a split E.P on Haunted Town.
Sept. of 2K3, I started playing bass/guitar for Cincy local garage-goons The Pariahs. Summer of '03, I got back with the Murder Junkies for the 10 year anniversary of  GG's demise. Since then...
recorded a few bands and did a couple more reunion shows.

UPDATE 3/08:

I'm tryin' to play out less & less these days. Blame it on age,  a lack of personal interest,  current trends...
In May '06 krakdhaus studio was completed. Finally, I'm following the voices in my head.
I launched my own label to get my  stuff out to the world.
If interested in ancient history and a glimpse to the future (?), check out:
cacophony-cincinnati
I don't promote this stuff (other than thru this site) and I don't care if it sells, but hey... it's out there.
Maybe another Junkies tour towards summer, but for now I'm just jazzed about finally pursuing my other interests in music.
Currently... I live a luxurious reclusive semi-retired lifestyle consisting of work, T.V. & delivery food.
For those who care... my liver (which is the evilest of all the internal organs)
finally finished regenerating... still working on the credit rating.
