Raven Cream Ale
Perhaps, just perhaps, we need to give this beer another chance. When
out on the town, R and B is a frequent favourite amongst the tap orders
but the bottled version of their Raven Cream Ale was so bad that I wondered
whether the batch had been off or whether our bottle had seen better days!
But a review is a review. We've vowed to give Rave Cream Ale another chance,
just for the record so we'll see what happens next. This was a tangy,
citrus-like beer. The only thing I could compare it to was a sour cherry
beer I had in Montreal. Its dark with a ruby tone. The only word to describe
its flavour is harsh and undelicate. There's not much beyond the harshness.
The label claims the beer has a "subtle, roasty finish" but
it wasn't apparent. The only finish I could find needed several glasses
of water to get rid of. Like I said, R and B has been of interest to me
in the past and I'm prepared to give this one another go.

Red Devil Pale Ale
Light refreshing beer with a lovely red-coppery colour.
Slightly bitter but little aftertaste. Good for summer on the patio. A
pleasant enough beer although not particularly astounding. A solid summer
choice nonetheless.
