The above document is in effect the charter drawn to establish The LANGENFELD Nation. On 6 July 1772, when Johann Quirin Langenfeld was converted from Judaism to Catholicism he took the name of the town for his surname and since Saint Quirinus was the patron of the 14th century church in Langenfeld, he adopted 'Quirin' as his baptismal name. This profound event is the well-spring of our family history.                                                   Deo Gratias -- Bill Langenfeld
