Ooma: Highly recommended if you're tired of paying for your landline!I heard about Ooma from my son-in-law after I'd told him I
was pissed with AT&T and was switching over to TimeWarner broadband phone. I
went online and was amazed how great this concept sounded: no monthly charges
for phone service (unless you want Premier Service - $12.99/Month), and total
control over your phone usage. The only investment is the device that makes it
all happen - a one-time $229.00 at Best Buy and other retailers. To make a long
story short, I cancelled my TimeWarner order, went out and bought the Ooma core
and free scout unit, set it up that night, went online and got my new phone
number (I was able to transfer my old number later for a mere $40.00) and I was
ready to go! The sound is great, computer doesn't have to be on, you can
integrate ALL of your wireless phones, ya got all the perks like free US long
distance, caller ID, voicemail, etc. and best of all: NO RIPOFF MONTHLY PHONE
BILL! We have a free 60 day trial of Premier, which we're keeping, and it is the
ultimate scenario. Not only can you have two separate phone numbers for free,
you can blacklist telemarketers, forward calls to your cell phone, change your
own ID when you make calls, and a whole lot more. Folks, it's awesome and I
highly recommend giving Ooma a try. Ya won't regret it!
Read More Wed - November 3, 2004Depression sets in...Yeah, I live in Ohio and had to suffer through
the slow, agonizing process of watching John Kerry lose the election here - the
one state that coulda, shoulda woulda won the election for him. My first thought
as I watched the coverage early yesterday evening was "who in the hell
are
all of these people voting for Bush - are there really that many?" As the night
wore on I realized that yes, there
were
that many and they just kept on coming. When I finally went to bed last night
(this morning), I wasn't sure what I'd wake up to - I only knew that Ohio was
gonna be exactly what they had predicted it would be: the clincher in this whole
election. And damned if we didn't lose - I mean, after all of the campaigning
and optimism and excitement, our guy lost.
I'm bummed to the max. Watching Kerry's concession speech nearly made me break down and cry. And when it was over, all I could think was, man, we're really in trouble now! Four more years of the same, and certainly even worse. Gone is the hope and excitement of a new fresh start and a road to recovery from all of this "yee-haw, let's go kick some ass!" mentality. Gone is the hope for an end to that costly war and incredible unemployment figures. Gone is the hope for cleaner air, equality for all, an end to sky high prescription drug prices and health insurance rates and a Quadra-Tetra-Trillion Dollar deficit. Gone is the hope for a world coming together for the common good. I'm bummed. And I can't wait until 2008 when we finally dump this turkey and elect a decent president in this country. As John Kerry said earlier today, "God Bless America." We're gonna need it. feel political - something I've never actually felt prior to this election year.
I'm so pissed with the way things have been handled in the current
administration that it's getting harder and harder not to think about it day in
and day out. I see the Kerry/Edwards signs out in the yards (the ones that
haven't yet been stolen by Bush supporters, that is...) and think to myself,
YES!!! There IS still a chance we can get away from all of the ugly, negative,
gun-slinging mentality-driven, megamegamega budget deficit - infested (and
growing by several billion a week), scores of unemployed folks without any hope
in sight, polluted (and by god certainly promising to get even more polluted)
air and water (why worry about the ozone layer - let's burn a few more kajillion
tons of coal for electricity - yeehaw!!!), poverty-stricken citizens with no
hope, homeless and down and out with no hope, seniors dying because they can't
begin to afford health care losing hope - egads the whole frigging WORLD hates
us, in-your-face reality we've been forced to endure these past four years.
With this said, my wife and I are doing whatever small part we can to see that this warmongering, deceitful, out-and-out LIAR gets beat out of office and replaced with someone who can actually say "nuclear." And in the meantime, we're crossing our fingers and hoping and praying that our dreams come true in November... the movie and saw Michael Moore on Late Night. I can only say
this: everything that I ever suspected was true and things are even worse than I
thought! Without getting political here, I can only say this: Go see this movie
before you go to the polls. You will be in for a revelation! Thank you, Michael
Moore - you're a genius!
