Project sketch for December- What I try to achieve here is again the hybrids
between 2 matters.... for this sketch... 'print matter' and 'interactive
media'
- Based on my previous work... a promotion video which you can see from this link (a sketch, but already complete (early september 2004)). It seem to be the use of hi-tech camera tracking system but it is actually not. it is a series of panoramic photo shooting (360) with simple stopmotion technique. - in this case the 'interactive media' that I'm going to tackle with is the VR kind of representation (sometime call QTVR, 360 panorama) for example this link or this - I will take panoramic image (at this stage I was thinking about 'typical tourist places') print it out which will look a bit like this ![]() - Then I will roll it in to cylinder shape and put it in a tube like this ![]()
![]() the tube should be some kind of little connect to bell (with light inside). However, it is really important to avoid the direct exotic asia look (well I've been braincaped about the Thainess all my life and here is the consequence! don't blame me, it is a reaction). so the lamp like in the picture (kitchen) is kind of suite. - so now we already have tangible VR environment - next we need to build the interface for audiences to interact with it. - since the lamp tube is smaller than human head... so we cannot spin our head inside to browse through the VR - what I like to do is use the doll hanging in the middle, take the head of the doll away and put surveillance camera instead. This is something like what I sketch last time ![]() ![]() -therefore the leg of the doll (at this stage should be, Barbie, Action Figure, Gundum and GI Joe) will be the handle for audience to browse around the bell.... -then we will have video out cable out from the lamp tube and connect to the television set for each bell. The visual from tv set will look kind of like this - so the installation will be a platform where these aspects below will mix/against/discuss to each other -print matter, photography -internet media -travel industry -realtime video feedback installation type of work -religious space - the final set will be around 6 set of this... like the sketch last time. ![]() Posted: Mon - October 11, 2004 at 01:51 AM |
