Concerns
To this date the use of Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO) in diesel engines is considered experimental. With so many different feed stock oils and concoctions of Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO), it is near impossible to standardize SVO/WVO as a fuel. Moreover, the recent use of SVO in the modern day petroleum engineered diesel engine has not run the test of time nor the scrutiny of other alternative fuels such as biodiesel and ethanol. As a result many concerns arise and finding clear answers can be difficult. In this section I have begun to compile some of the basic concerns that people have when they begin to consider SVO.
