In 2006 he lived in Kyiv, Ukraine, as western news media liaison to the winning party in UKraine's first parliamentary elections since the Orange Revolution.
Read was an editor on UPI's foreign desk during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm of the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
He currently provides business development counsel to Tetra Tech, Inc. (NYSE:ttek), an international environmental engineering firm.
