Walls

We've achieved walls.

We have achieved walls. No roof yet, but we do have walls. See?

Actually, we have walls that go all the way around, now, and some interior walls for the bathroom (see above; it's beside the old barn wall) and the laundry room. And, of course, the new entranceway.

I've changed the splash for this blog (right-hand column, top) with a photo of the old house's barn-board exterior, now exposed. The composition of the barn-board speaks for itself; this was a widow's house, built from whatever materials there were to hand in the early 1800s, including some old red sign-boards.

Dawn continues to help us from her perch in the old dining room window. Note the iron sash weights exposed in the window framing (photo below).

Since these photos were taken, it has snowed. Over two feet. Elric got up the other morning, put on his boots and coat, and shoveled out the new living room. How disconcerting.

It will dry out, we'll eventually get trusses for the roof, and snow won't bother us anymore. Ah, for the day!
