Knitting Updates
I'm so green...
... with my new green yarn from Elann. Gonna make me a
neck-down roll sweater like I made for Elric last year, this time from a
blue-green wool that was at elann.com -- with my discounts from previous
purchases, plus money I already had in the PayPal account from my eBay sales , it was only $13 total, including
shipping. Yippee!Lookie

All wound off, using the table swift and ball
winder Kate found for me at her knitting store
workplace (a place of great temptation,
indeed).This is Araucania
Natural Wool , dye color number 13: "Atlantis." The photo doesn't do
it justice to its color values of green-blue. The wool was clearly dyed in the
hank, by hand, and so there are many variations in the colors, which are
knitting up to a sort of heathered look, at times almost a camouflagued color
pattern of small blotches. It's rather nice, but not what I expected from
"hand-dyed" wool. Most hand dyeing is done in the wool, not in the yarn or hank,
and so has a more subtle variation.I'm
done with the main body to just below the arm separations, and am doing the left
arm now. I should be done with the entire sweater in a few weeks, at a leisurely
rate.
