wildlife research and conservation links
This section of the Wildlife Web features links to research on a variety of species.

Conservation International
Conservation International (CI) targets high-biodiversity areas where the needs are greatest and where each conservation dollar spent can save the most species. Working across vast regions, we conserve entire ecosystems by establishing networks of terrestrial and marine protected areas with multiple sustainable uses.

Earthwatch

Earthwatch sponsors important cultural and environmental research by inviting concerned citizens like yourself to invest in the future of our planet. A nonprofit membership organization founded in 1972, Earthwatch has mobilized over 40,000 people to spend one to three weeks assisting noted scientists and scholars on projects that range from coral reef surveys to public health studies.

Madagascar Fauna Group

The MFG promotes wildlife research and conservation in Madagascar. The site includes information on the Ruffed Lemur Release and Conservation Program.

Nebraska Behavioral Biology Group

The Nebraska Behavioral Biology Group (NBBG) combines the resources in Behavioral Biology of three Universities in Eastern Nebraska: Creighton University; The University of Nebraska-Lincoln; and The University of Nebraska at Omaha.

National Science Foundation

The National Science Foundation is an independent agency of the United States Federal government that was established in 1950 by an Act of Congress. The agency's mission is to promote the progress of science and engineering.

NatureMapping Program

The NatureMapping Program's vision is to create a national network that links natural resource agencies, academia and land planners with local communities primarily through schools. Our goal is to keep common animals common and to maintain our quality of life. Our approach is to train individuals to become aware of their natural resources and to provide the tools to inventory and monitor their resources.

Tree of Life

The Tree of Life is a project designed to contain information about the phylogenetic relationships of organisms, to link biological information available on the Internet in the form of a phylogenetic navigator, and to illustrate the diversity and unity of living organisms.
