Contributing Chromosome Spreads, Karyotypes, and Ideograms

There are 233 species of primates, according to the taxonomic list by Colin Groves in Mammal Species of the World, and there are many more subspecies. Not all species have been karyotyped and only some of those have corresponding ideograms. I have only karyotyped four of the 233 primate species, so I am relying on other cytogeneticists to contribute their chromosome spreads, karyotypes and ideograms to this project.

I am currently seeking publication quality chromosome spreads, karyotypes and ideograms of any primate species. Karyotypes can be photographs or digital files (PC or Macintosh). I will scan the photographs and create a digital file for inclusion in the network. Every scientist will be acknowledged according to their contribution.

If you can contribute images to the Primate Cytogenetics Network please send E-mail to: Tim Knight

Your contributions will help the Primate Cytogenetics Network evolve.
