Thursday, May 19

Afternoon/Early Evening ~ Arrive, check into rooms, explore the resort.  You may wish to have dinner in the resort's Rafters restaurant.  Please note that this meal is not part of our colloquium package.

8:00 PM ~ Welcome and opening reception.  Gather in the Scarlet Oak room.  After some opening announcements and introductions we'll move to the reception location.

 

Friday, May 20

9:00 – 12:00 ~ SESSION I: Instrumental Music Education Courses (Scarlet Oak)

Come share your research, ideas for research, or find others interested in collaborating on research.  Also, begin to propose and sign up for Saturday lunch discussion topics in the Scarlet Oak room.


Saturday, May 21

Topics for lunch discussions will be generated by colloquium participants (begin signing up Friday evening) and may include topics such as recruitment of instrumental music education candidates, student teaching, exit requirements, professional development, school partnerships, etc.  This will be a "Grab-N-Go" lunch where you pick up your lunch and then go with your group anywhere inside or outside of the lodge where you want to hold your discussion.

1:30 - 4:15 ~ SESSION IV: Observation and Field Work (Scarlet Oak)
