A free and simple way to take screen captures during DVD playback.

"ScreenCaptureGUI 2" is FREEWARE.

About ScreenCaptureGUI 2

"ScreenCaptureGUI 2" is simply a graphical front end to Apple's command line "screencapture" utility. The main reason to use "ScreenCaptureGUI 2" is its ability to easily take timed screen captures while you have a DVD paused or playing in Apple's DVD Player application. As you've probably noticed, whenever there is a playing or paused DVD, even non-copyrighted DVDs or ones you've created YOURSELF, you CANNOT take screen captures via the keyboard, eg, command+shift+3, OR with Apple's "Grab" Utility. For example, the dialog below appears when using the Grab utility during DVD playback (*note: the picture of this error dialog was taken with ScreenCaptureGUI version 1).

Important Note: If you need ScreenCaptureGUI 2's functionality in Mac OS X 10.2.x (Jaguar) or Mac OS X 10.3.x (Panther), then please download "ScreenCaptureGUI" version 1.

Again, "ScreenCaptureGUI 2" is FREEWARE. There is NO COST to using, owning, or redistributing it. However, it is recommended that everyone download the latest version from http://homepage.mac.com/wi150n/1/screencapturegui.htm instead of redistributing it.

As freeware, there is no warranty or technical support. You use it at your own risk, not mine. Please see ScreenCaptureGUI 2's online help under the "Help" menu.

Though there is no warranty or technical support, please direct all ramblings to:
