Add an extra point for each card that is related to the task. For instance, if the player is negotiating with goblins, then each white point counts for one and each goblin card counts as one as well.
The task succeeds if the draw has a number of points equal or more than the difficulty of the task.
Difficulty:
Moderate: 1 point
Difficult: 2 points
Hard: 3 points
Impossible: 5 points
The words chosen do reflect the severity of the challenge. To get three successes is really hard, although this depends on how the deck is tuned to the colour in question (see the page on deck construction). GMs who try this game for the first time are advised to set low task difficulties for the first few sessions, until they, and their players, get a feeling for the task resolution and for their decks.
Drawn cards are put aside in a graveyard until the character gets a chance to rest. Then the graveyard is shuffled through the deck again.
