Trek Day 7,8,9
The trek was exactly what we were looking for... a physical and mental journey that would strengthen our bodies and nurture our souls

We spent much time with our heads down-the trail was rocky and hard to navagate
You can see the valley twist up to the 2nd pass by the mountain in the back
Much of day 7 was spent climbing up out of the valley
Happy trekker Kristine takes a much needed break near a Mani prayer wall
"How much farther?"
Lunch at 16,000 ft. our campsite is next to the mountain in the background
Heading for our campsite- a storm approaches
Ahhh! it's getting cold
"...and the road goes ever, ever on..."- J.R.R Tolkien
Our tent at 16,000 ft. Vicki tried to summit the Mt. in the background
dreadlocks after 5 days and no shower
plastered head... good thing there's no smell on the internet
Duck tape (use numer 1001). Our feet got pretty banged up
Day 8 was spent inside the tent because were snowed in with 6 inches
Someone told us the the trek would be "mostly hot"- Wrong!
Our trusty toilet tent. Again good thing pictures don't convey smells!
The morning after the storm- looking east
Day 9-we head out for our last trek- a grueling 10 hour walk
It took us 2.5 hours to get up to the pass. We walked 20 meters at a time...
...and then would stop to catch our breath
We felt as if we could touch the sky
Finally by the last day we felt in good physical condition

16,800 ft- We made it!
The trek down looked daunting and steep
Bhuddists believe the prayers on these flags blow out to the world on the wind
Our Sherpas were excellent and made us feel safe throughout the trek
We only spent 5 minutes at the top because we had a 6 hr. walk to the end
Kristine's shoes had no traction so the guys had to help her down the mt.
Only 5 more hours to go and my knee is holding up better today...smiles!
This is the last picture! Our camera broke before we made it to the end! Bye!
