Day Two and Three

After recovering from day one we headed out to reach the first pass into Markha Valley.

We passed over many bridges like this on our trek
Zeeb and Brian take a break for a picture
Kristine is great at getting pictures of the locals
Kristine spent 2 hours with a group of village girls
They talked about daily life, hair, and boys...marriages are still arranged
Meeting them was one of Kristine's favorite parts of the trip
Kristine and her new "Saathis" (friend in Nepali)
Kristine eats lunch in the tent. Potato, egg, cheese, and bread
Brian competes in a stone throwing contest...and wins!
Happy trekkers...Zeeb, Vicki, and Kristine
Studly trekker and National Geographic photographer-Brian
Typical campsite- ours is the small read tent. The toilet has the red sheet
Toilets- just holes in the floor of a suspended platform (I had to put this in!)
Kristine playing games with our guides!
Nuri taught us many words in Nepaliese (he does a great Elvis impersonation)
This is day 3...a very hard day for us on the way up to the pass
Both of us got altitude sickness...Kristine was hit very hard
We spent the afternoon and night getting over migraine headaches
