Category Image Earl begins training as a Great Lakes Airlines First Officer

Drinking from the firehose

I'm writing this from a room in a hotel in Cheyenne Wyoming. Great Lakes Airlines headquarters is at the Cheyenne Airport. I'll be going to First Officer (co-pilot) class on the former campus of Preston University tomorrow morning at 8:00AM.

It's been a long road from CFI last summer, to Multi-Engine Instrument Commercial in February, to an interview on March 7, and now First Officer class.

I'll be drinking from the firehose for the next few weeks, but at long last, I'll be turning my passion for flying into my vocation.

Amelia Erhart said, "The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.” I'm taking that advice and the road ahead is clear.
