The Smurf and his Airplane

Maralyn says that Earl wears his smurf suit when he goes flying. It *is* blue, but then that matches the Bronco colors of N88BS, his Pitts S-1E ( Experimental S-1S with some S1-T features).

Parked on the ramp before Earl gets in. Hot pilot. Just a bit too smug, no? Through the wing. Prop needs repaint. Casual pose. Adjusting the ANR headset for quietest operation. Arranging the many seat belts. Priming the engine. Calling "Clear Prop!" It still runs! Taxi to the fuel pump. Waiting in line. The big in front, the small behind. Warming up the engine while waiting in line. Still warming the engine. Waiting for gasoline. Was avgas ever that cheap??? Peering out of the cockpit. Getting the belts in order again. Calling "Clear Prop!" again. It runs again! Starting taxi to active. Turning toward the runway. Looking at the windsocks. Deciding that runway 11 is the one to use. Taxiing to runway 11. Up, up, and away!
