As Principal at Newport High School in Bellevue, Washington, I'm fortunate to be in a school rich in diversity. Approximately forty percent of Newport's population is Asian. Due to our large Korean population, we are fortunate to have a strong collaborative relationship with the Bellevue Korean School. On Friday evenings, Newport's school community is enriched as the Korean School holds cultural and language courses for our Korean students and families. I feel extremely fortunate to be a participant in this enriching program and am eager to share my experiences with students, parents and staff.

Newport High School is one of four comprehensive high schools in Bellevue School District in Bellevue, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. Newport has approximately 1350 ninth-through-twelfth grade students. Newport is the top performing comprehensive high school in the state of Washington, based on the state assessment. Eighty-six percent of our students are enrolled in Honors and/or Advanced Placement (AP) courses. We offer an extensive academic program, with twenty-six AP courses. Over ninety percent of our graduating seniors attend college.

This trip has enabled me to expand my knowledge of Korean culture and lifestyles while in the company of other professionals with similar interest and passion for educating youth. The enthusiasm displayed....(STILL IN WORK)
