2004 Accomplishments
- 52 meetings were held every Wednesday (including Thanksgiving Eve)
- 499 different topics discussed over the year (534 in 2003)
- Our focus on issues-oriented discussion has continued
- Our Web-page with current topics discussed and other group contact information remained current, at least monthly
- Referrals to our group and from our group to other groups has continued
- E-mail and telephone referrals continued at a high level
- Information brochures were distributed to new members:
- BiPolar Bears group guidelines
- Tips for the Newly Diagnosed (NEW)
- Other local Support Groups
- Government programs in Arizona
- Typical medications proscribed by group for:
- Mood stabilizers
- Antidepressants
- Anti-anxiety
- Anti-psychotics
- A single-page description of our group was written for external use
- We maintained databases to document our activities. We prepared weekly demographic reports (in special format) for the Mental Health Association
- We compiled and distributed our Annual Report
- We updated weekly registration form and databases to conform with potential HIPPA requirements
- Completion of 12 years as Chair position by W. Philip Sawyer
