Media Release: 2005 NSW Sidecar State Titles Oct 8th-9th

Dags and I collaborated to prepare a media release which has so far been sent to:

1. AMCN
2. The Formula Xtreme web site
3. The Speed Sports Torque show on radio station 2GLF

We also sent the same folks a release about our training day coming up on Oct 23. If you have other contacts you think we should send media releases to, please bring them to our attention.

This coming weekend (Oct 8-9) will see the best of NSW road race sidecar action at Eastern Creek where HRR will promote the NSW Sidecar Championship.

Tickets are available at the gate for just $20 (even less for children & pensioners) and pit access is included in the ticket price.  So come and stroll through the pits where you can talk to the evergreen Doug Chivas about his defence of the NSW title he earned last year.  Doug currently holds all three east coast state titles.  Meet the Darryl Rayner / Craig Longhurst team who currently lead the Australian F2 championship going into the final round at Phillip Island in November.  Choose your opportunity appropriately, but make the effort to chat to any of the nineteen sidecar teams racing this weekend.  Sidecar teams have a reputation for fellowship and camaraderie which is unique in motorsport.

NSW teams have recently celebrated victory over their Queensland counterparts in the four round interstate challenge series and will be looking to cement that with strong performances in this, their home state championships.

The Saturday program will have teams practising at around 9:30am before aiming to position themselves for the weekend by going all out in a 20 minute qualifying session shortly before lunch.  The feature event for sidecars later on Saturday afternoon will be the seven lap first leg of what will be a three leg championship challenge.

Sidecar action on Sunday will begin with a 10 min warm up.  Later leg two (also 7 laps) will get underway mid morning with the final leg of seven laps to be run mid afternoon.  While that already looks like a busy schedule for the competing teams, there will also be a four lap sidecar handicap event late on the Sunday afternoon to add to the spectacle for the weekend.
