PowerMail iCal Scripts

About These Scripts

These modified scripts allow you to use iCal with PowerMail as your mailing application.

Files

The files in the Stuffit archive consist of:

• mailInfoScript.applescript
• mailScript.applescript
• mailScriptWithAttachment.applescript

What to do With These Scripts

You need to replace the same files in resources folder of iCal. I would recommend you rename the original version in the resources folder. This way if you ever want to go back and use mail.app as with iCal you will be able to do so.

Detailed Instructions

1. Open the iCal Resources folder.

1. Press and hold the Control key on your keyboard.
   This enables the contextual menu.
    
2. Click and hold the iCal icon.
   The contextual menu appears.
   
   
    
3. Select Show Package Contents
   The iCal package opens.
   
   
    
4. Double-click the Contents folder.
   The Contents folder opens.
   
   
    
5. Double-click the Resources folder.
   The Resources folder opens.
   
   
    
6. Rename the existing iCal mail scripts in the Resources folder.
   Add .old to the existing .applescript files, or use some other name.
    
7. Copy the three files from the stuffit archive into the Resources folder.

iCal will now use PowerMail to send notifications, calendar announcements, and meeting invitations.
