This site is offered simply as a vehicle to share my various explorations in the application of dharma art to photography, documentary film, and Tango.
Dharma Art is an application of Buddhist teachings to the creative process which was initially articulated by the late Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. At its essence it is about trying to see and connect to the inherent beauty within objects and people as they are, by getting neurotic mind out of the way which tends towards manipulation or conceptualization to inject a point of view.
The "O" in On the spOt PrOductiOns is a reference to being in the moment, "on the spot", to cultivate an open contemplative state of mind free of aggression during the process of expression, whether behind a camera, at the editing station, or on the dance floor.
More about Dharma Art can be learned here. An excellent site on the application of Dharma Art to photography known as Miksang can be found here.
