Feldman to Sunrise Rotary:
Take a [Creek] hike
Curtis
Feldman thinks our club should take a hike, or at least make it easier for
others to do so.
Curt,
who graciously agreed to speak to our club at the last minute, suggested our
club adopt the Creekwalk as a potential service project.
Being
involved with the tourism industry, Curt has noticed that there is little for
visitors to our community to do after then have spent some time browsing
through the shops.
One idea that has percolated
over the years is a Creekwalk connecting Parmalee Park on the outlet to The
Creamery. This would be
particularly relevant right now as The Creamery prepares to build a new boat
museum adjacent to its current facility.
The project would involve
building some type of trail along the south shore of the Creek with a bridge
crossing to the museum just before Kelley Street.
The project is particularly
attractive, Curt says, because many of the property owners along the south
shore of the Creek already support the project, at least in principal.
Notes from DG Marlene Brown
The following is excerpted
from the most recent notes from our District Governor, Marlene Brown:
As
of 2:00am on March 31st, the District 7150 team (composed of District Governor
Marlene Brown and eClub NY1 Rotarians Earl Lewis and Brad Brown) returned from
our trip to Haiti. After a few hours sleep, Earl (District Grants Chair) and I
spent the day completing the Matching Grant for our Water project in Haiti.

We
also submitted additional Matching Grants for our ongoing India project.
