Meeting – CLAW Veterinary Brief
Dr. Megan Williams and Dr. Linda
Meier discussed Clear Lakes Animal Wellness (CLAW), their new jointly operated
small animal veterinary clinic.
CLAW is located next to Skan-Ellus’ Drive In to the East of the Village
on Route 20. Megan Williams lives in the Auburn area with her husband, a large
animal veterinarian. She has worked various jobs in Syracuse but wanted
to work in a small community. Frustrated by the number of established
veterinarians in Auburn, she and partner Linda Meier decided to open shop in
Skaneateles. Clear Lakes Animal Wellness opened in May next to
Pretty Paws across the parking lot from Skan-Ellus.
Linda lives
in LaFayette and has owned her own practice in Brewerton for many years.
After graduating from Cornell, Linda originally sought to be a horse
veterinarian but later switched to small animals and joined the Brewerton
practice where she eventually entered into a partnership and, later assumed
sole ownership. A native of the Honeoye area, Linda is no stranger to
Rotary. In high school, Linda was active in her Interact Club.

Rotary Minute – Humanitarian Grants Program
Humanitarian grants enable Rotarians to increase their support of
international service projects that provide water wells, medical care, literacy
classes, and other essentials to people in need. Rotarian participation is key to project success.
- Matching Grants assist Rotary clubs and districts in carrying
out humanitarian projects with clubs in other countries.
- District Simplified Grants enable districts to
support service activities or humanitarian endeavors that benefit local or
international communities.
- Volunteer Service Grants support he travel of
qualified Rotarians and their spouses as they plan needed projects or provide
essential services in a community.
- Health, Hunger and Humanity (3-H) Grants fund long-term,
self-help, and grassroots development projects that use a sustainable,
integrative approach to address humanitarian needs.
The Humanitarian Grants Program is a key element of The Rotary
Foundation mission to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding,
goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of
