Wealth of Rotary information available with
one mouse click
Everything you ever needed to know about Rotary can be found at the
click of a mouse.
Ward Vuillemot demonstrated the wealth of Rotary information available
from the Web site he developed at www.skaneatelesrotary.org
The main page of the site provides all of the basic information that
prospective members would need to evaluate who we are and what we do as
Rotarians.
As you delve more deeply into the site, more specific information of
interest to current members is available, including news and information about
District Major Events and member/club accomplishments, youth exchange,
community service, Interact and the many other things we do each year.
The site also provides links to District 7150’s Web site and the Rotary
International Web site, among others.
Skaneatelesrotary.org has complete information about both Rotary clubs including
where and when we meet, our current officers and a description of our many
service projects. The site also
provides photo galleries of our many events
Rotarians are encouraged to spend some time at the site and encourage
others to do the same.
RI President helps
charter
Korean-American Rotary
Club
District 6440 has a new club, in part due to the
recruiting prowess of RI President Dong Kurn Lee.
Lee presented the club charter to the Rotary Club of
Chicagoland Korean-Northbrook with District 6440 Governor Pamela Kerr on 22
August in Northbrook, Illinois, USA.
Attendees were asked to make a $50 donation to Rotary’s
US$100 Million Challenge. About 175 people attended the charter night and the
event raised $6,000.
The club’s 54 members are Korean American, and club
business will mostly be conducted in Korean. But that is the beauty of Rotary,
Lee told the charter night audience.
“What matters in Rotary is not what language we speak, or
where we come from, or how much English we remember from high school,” Lee
said. “What matters in Rotary is fellowship, friendship, and building bridges
of goodwill.”
