LAST WEEK’S HIGHLIGHTS
Changing of the Guard -
Outgoing President, John Hennessy, passed the gavel over to incoming President,
Doug Rutan following an outstanding year of
leadership and achievements.
John spoke of his experience is terms of; fun, excitement and
transition, and graciously expressed his gratitude to all those Rotarians who
help make is an exceptional year, with a special thanks to Skip Plant for his
can-do support. Doug highlighted
many of the past year’s challenges, successes and achievement under John’s
leadership, and set the tone for the coming year. We all shared in the excitement of the evening.
Youth Exchange: An additional highlight of the evening was Charlotte
Linden’s appearance with her mother to bid us all a tearful farewell. We are saddened with her departure, but
gladdened as rejoins her family and homeland with the many wonderful memories
and Skaneateles YE experiences. She will be missed by all.
THIS WEEK’S PROGRAM
Joe Owens
will discuss his service in the Korean War. Mr. Owens was recently awarded the Silver Star for his
heroic acts in the Chosin Reservoir in 1951.
