Ad Hoc: John O’Sullivan
is leading a “3” person committee including Robin Jowaisas and Duane
Weaver. They will review the
integration of our Foundation (501 c 3 not for profit corporation) to assess
how it seems to be working overall and speak with as many Club members as are interested
in discussing it
or have their own thoughts on the subject. After assimilating input and information, they will present
to the Club as a whole. They are
welcome to suggest sweeping changes, recommend it remain functional as is, or
propose any alternatives in between. Their findings will be a result of their inquiries and be
non-binding. It will then be up to
the SRF and SRC boards to take any action.
Benediction & Atonement: Dale Zable will provide some words of wisdom for our
group. Atonement will be for
individual assessments on resolutions failed or successful early in our new year, or personal thoughts on the nations change of
leadership. An
open-ended plate pass.
Last Week’s Program: Charly Linden and Miguel Rodenas Lorda
gave very thoughtful, informational, and fun talks on their home countries
(Germany & Spain), their families, and pastimes. Each was also particularly polite, not commenting on our
local overly severe winter snowfall and exceedingly low air temperatures. We also belatedly celebrated Charly’s birthday, complete with pink ski vest.
This Week’s Program: Assemblyman Brian
Kolb representing the 129th
NYS Congressional District will speak and answer questions. I’m sure his insights on our new and little known Governor Patterson will
be enlightening. Bring your
friends and questions. Should be a
good evening! Skaneateles Mayor Bob Green and Supervisor Phil Tierney will each be
joining us.
Next Week’s Program (1.29): Bill Conole will
speak about the state of health care and his professional viewpoint from Crouse
Hospital. More
details next week.
WinterFest: Our
local Rotary friends and partners, the Skaneateles
Sunrise Rotary Club, will need our help during their big fundraiser, WinterFest on Saturday, January 31. Please keep that day as open as possible
and best of all, contact Tom Seeley at 685.3416 /days or 685.2311 /
evenings to volunteer your assistance.
