Ball
Diamond Weekend: Reports ranging from “granite bedrock” to packed in “shale & silt”
hardpan have hampered the ball diamond improvement completion. It is now
expected to be done by Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. The soils and
subsurface ground layers turned out to be other than Iowa fertile loam or Long
Island sandy stone as it turns out. Guess that is better than ground frozen
solid. Reports of aging and worn out back & arm muscles penetrate the
Rotary project headlines. In the end, it will be done and done well thanks to a
great team & the leadership of onsite general contractor, David Lee. Ben Gay may need to be
passed out at this week’s dinner to assist the martini’s therapeutic &
dulling qualities.
This Week /
Pancake Kickoff Meeting: Please do not forget to be in our “West Wing” at
the Sherwood Inn to put together and bind packets of Pancake Breakfast tickets.
The time to be there is 5:30. “Many hands make light work.” All of us will be receiving
at least one ticket packet to sell. Please accept as many tickets as you
believe you’ll be able to sell. The “Main
Event” is Sunday, June 21 and Robin Jowaisas - Chuck O’Neil & Co. will be trying to
make it the best ever!
Last Week: Michael Quill,
mayor of Auburn visited and gave us great updates on his city, how it is coping
with the economic downturn, and how this central NYS city will fare in the
future. Great speaker Skip Plank,
nice work, & thanks.
