This is Ball Diamond Weekend: Don’t forget our spring ’09 Service Project is this Saturday / Sunday; May 2 & 3.

Pancake Breakfast Ticket Sales: At our May 7 meeting, Chuck O’Neil our ticket czar will be kicking off ticket sales for our annual Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast. As always, each Rotarian will receive a fair share of tickets to sell prior to the breakfast, June 21. Please mark your calendars to arrive at the Sherwood Inn at 5:30 for the annual “ticket bundling cocktail party” on the west porch. Chuck promises to have lots of rubber bands to bind together ticket packets. Fast counting YE students are always appreciated.      Robin

Last Week’s Program: SU’s Marilyn Higgins gave a great presentation on Syracuse’s “potential” future urban restoration and development, including the future the I-81 / I-690 corridors. Importantly, Marilyn addressed why it is meaningful for our community as a whole for SU along with other organizations to participate in this effort.

This Week’s Program: Auburn Mayor Michael Quill will be with us, presenting a “state of Auburn”, addressing Auburn’s economic issues, direction and future, plus answering questions. A solid community interest evening!

Next Week’s Program, May 7: Pancake Breakfast Kickoff Meeting, our premier event & fundraiser;  June 21.

Benediction & Atonement: Karen Veverka’s invocations are always thoughtful, meaningful and well worth hearing; this week’s will surely be no less. Last week Ralph Jurgensen, the week’s acting fine master, found out who reads the Rotarian with a “spot quiz”. Nice touch Ralph! Atonement penalties this Thursday will be aptly be doled out by Jean Sardino and she is going to come ready to rock & roll, so bring your $$$.

Of Note: Carol & John Shannon are vacationing in Paris and Doug Rutan has been working the People’s Republic of China, now that is piling up frequent flyer miles!
